Dahshur is located about 10 km south of Saqqara ,There are 2 pyramids in dahshur : The Bent pyramid and The Red Pyramid both were built by the 4th Dynasty founder king Senefru ( father of Khufu, builder of the Great Pyramid ) The Bent pyramid was the first attempt to build smooth sided Pyramid and the reason of its shape it was originally designed to rise at the angle of 55°which would make very high Pyramid which is not safe for it so on the height of 60 meters they decreased the angel to 41.5° The Red Pyramid considered to be the first successful (straight-sided) pyramid ever built.
